The 2016 season saw Miguel Cabrera put up his typical stellar numbers. Making his 11th all-star appearance, Cabrera finished the 2016 campaign with 38 home runs, 108 RBI and a solid .316 batting average. Cabrera continues to march toward the exclusive 500 Home Run Club, as his 38 home runs in 2016 put the career total at 446.

This SAM Bat MC1 model bat was used by Cabrera during the September 5th game at the Chicago White Sox. Cabrera had a great day going 4-for-5 in the game with two home runs and two RBI as the Tigers defeated the White Sox 5-3. This bat exhibits outstanding game use and is un-cracked. Cabrera hit two home runs using this bat on September 5th off of Chris Sale for home runs 300 and 301 with the Detroit Tigers and career home runs 438 and 439. The barrel is covered in ball marks and stitch impressions along with blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. Cleat marks are evident and a heavy coat of Mota Stick is found on the mid and upper handle. The bat's factory specs are hand written in black ink on the barrel end. Cabrera's number "24" is hand written on both the barrel and knob ends. Cabrera has signed the barrel of this bat in gold marker and inscribed “300 AND 301 HR WITH DETROIT TIGERS 438 AND 439 CAREER HR”. This bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB424998) which authenticates this bat’s use during the September 5th game and notes that the home runs hit by Cabrera using this bat were career home runs 300 and 301 with the Tigers. The MLB hologram also covers this signature and inscriptions from Cabrera.
