Wilt Chamberlain was one of the most dominant NBA players of all-time. His dominance was so thorough that the NBA was forced to change some of its rules to lessen his impact on the game. Chamberlain averaged an incredible 30 points and 22 rebounds per game in his career, including an unprecedented 50 and 25 in the 1961-62 season. “Wilt the Stilt” played for the Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers. He was named an All-Star in all but one of his 14 seasons while simultaneously picking up four NBA MVP awards. Chamberlain’s most famous individual accomplishment came when he scored 100 points in a regulation NBA game, a feat that has never been, and likely will never be, equaled. The Overbrook High School graduate was elected into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 1978. Chamberlain signed this Spalding basketball in black marker, adding his number “13” to his signature.
