Presented here is Casey Stengel’s personal photography scrapbook. It is filled with incredible vintage baseball photographs featuring great Yankees, stars of yesteryear, and other contemporary stars. Numerous pages are devoted to Ty Cobb and players of his day, including a page with a newspaper photograph of the Hall of Fame induction ceremony of 1939. However, according to the caption, Cobb was late and missed the photograph! Other sports, such as hockey and boxing are represented, while a tremendous photograph of the Joe Loefter’s Band performing in St. Petersburg at the Williams Park Bowl is also included. Several of the photographs have handwritten notes from Stengel. In the back of the book, several Civil War photographs are included, such as one showing Walter Williams, a man who claimed to be 116 years old at the time. This book is bound in a brown cover, and the pages are made of black construction paper. This scrapbook is in good condition, with only minor wear and signs of aging.
