Presented here is a baseball signed by 34 members of the 1970 New York Yankees. This edition of the Bombers finished the season with a record of 93-69, good enough for second place in the American League East behind a juggernaut Baltimore Orioles team. A bright spot for the Yankees was the emergence of rookie catcher Thurman Munson, who had a cup-of-coffee in 1969 but claimed the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1970. Mel Stottlemyre, Roy White, and 20-game winner Fritz Peterson were members of the 1970 American League All-Star team.

The centerpiece of this baseball is a stunning, rookie era Munson signature on the panel south of the sweet spot. The mustachioed catcher and future American League MVP has signed his name in bold black pen. Stottlemyre, Elston Howard, and the clubhouse version of Steve Hamilton have signed the sweet spot of this Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball. Other signatures include Gary Waslewski, Ron Klimkowski, Jake Gibbs, Jerry Kenney, Ralph Houk, Bobby Murcer, Mike McCormick, Lindy McDaniel, Curt Blefary, Gene Michael, Pete Ward, Ron Woods, Roy White, and several more. The signatures have been written in black and green pen. This item is accompanied by a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A81820).
