Presented here is a program to the 1971 Sealy LPGA Classic signed by numerous legendary athletes. America’s two favorite Joes, Messrs. DiMaggio and Namath, signed the program in gray pencil. Namath signed his name as “Joe Willie Namath”, and added the inscription “Best Wishes”. Other signatures include Fred Williamson and several others, totaling seven signatures. The signatures have been written in gray pencil and blue pen.
The 1971 Sealy LPGA Classic was the first iteration of this tournament, which was contested until 1974. Sandra Palmer, the 1975 US Open champion, won this event by finishing three strokes under par. It was the first victory of her professional career. She claimed a cash prize of $10,000 for winning the tournament, which was tied for the highest purse in any LPGA event that season. This program is several pages long, and comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A81817).
