Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar spent his second full season in the Majors with the San Diego Padres in 1989, where he led the National League in plate appearances. Light-hitting at the time, Alomar was starting to develop his offensive game to make him into one of the game’s best all-around second baseman.
This Adirondack/Rawlings 454A model bat was used by Alomar in 1989, where he finished this season with a respectable .295 average. This bat displays solid use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks and bat rack streaks present on the barrel. There is a light coating of Mota Stick on the lower handle and Alomar’s number “12” has been hand written in black marker on the knob, along with the bat’s length “35” and weight “32 1/2”. Alomar has signed his name on the barrel in bold black marker and inscribed “Best Always”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14554) and former Major League pitcher Lee Smith for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C11918) for his signature.
