Kirby Puckett’s 12-year career patrolling center pasture for the Minnesota Twins was not devoid of achievement and heroics. The 10-time All-Star led the American League in hits four times, twice in total bases, and once each in batting average and RBI. The man could plain hit, fashioning a lifetime .318 BA, smacking 207 HR, and plating 1,085. On defense Puckett was just a stellar, winning Gold Gloves six out of seven straight seasons. His post-season heroics were hallmarks of consistency. Hitting .311 in two ALCS’s and .308 in two World Series, “Puck” stood as the Twins’ de facto pillar of plate performance when the team needed it most. His .429 BA in the 1991 ALCS will be hard to match – ever.

The upshot of his performance? The Twins won the World Series in 1987 and 1991. Two post-seasons, four series, two world championships. Puckett’s Louisville Slugger C243 model bat was used by the Hall of Famer during the 1989 season. This bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. There is slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. Puckett boldly signed and inscribed in vivid gold marker on the barrel and inscribed “#34”. The signature is clean and clear and this bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14590) and has been graded a solid GU 8. There is also a LOA from former relieve pitcher Lee Smith, who attests that the bat was game used and signed by Puckett and gifted to him. There is an additional COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C11922).
