     Presented here are two bats used and signed by Joe Carter. The first was used between 1986 and 1989, when Carter was a member of the Cleveland Indians. Over this period, Carter slugged 123 home runs, with 400 RBI and 100 stolen bases for Tribe, leading the American League in RBI, with 121, in 1986. This Louisville Slugger S331 model ash bat has a Hornsby finish, with “S331” and “30” written on the knob in silver marker, and “30” written on the barrel end in silver marker. The bat displays outstanding use, and is un-cracked. Carter signed the barrel in gold marker, additionally penning an inscription to former Major League closer Lee Smith that reads “To My Man Smitty / Keep Bringing the HEAT!!”. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14560), who have graded the bat a GU 9, a LOA from former Lee Smith, who attests that this bat was given to him by Carter and has been in his private collection and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature (C11913).

     The second bat was used by Carter between 1994 and 1997, when the World Series hero played for the Toronto Blue Jays. Carter made All-Star teams for the Jays in 1994 and 1996. This black bat is a Louisville Slugger B343 model that displays excellent use and is un-cracked. Carter has signed the barrel of the bat in black marker, and while his signature is faint, it remains readable. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14561), who have graded the bat a GU 8.5, a LOA from former Major League pitcher Lee Smith, who attests that this bat was given to him by Carter and has been in his private collection and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature (C11938).
