With seven all-star appearances, a National League Most Valuable Player Award, and over 600 career home runs, Sammy Sosa is without question one of the greatest sluggers of the past 25 years. "Slammin Sammy" had his first 40 home run season in 1996 as he began a streak that would see him hit at least 40 home runs in seven of the next eight seasons.

This Rawlings Big Stick 256B model bat was used by Sosa during the 1996 season. This bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There is some checking or grain swelling on the barrel from repeated ball contact, along with black bat rack streaks. Sosa’s number “21” is hand written on the barrel end in black marker and the end of the knob has been taped. Sosa signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “#21”. The signature is slightly faded, but still readable. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14592) and has been graded a near perfect GU 9.5. There is also a LOA from former relieve pitcher Lee Smith, who attests that the bat was game used and signed by Sosa and gifted to him. There is an additional COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C11928).
