Presented here are two bats issued to Lee Smith during his time with the California Angels and Baltimore Orioles. The bats are both black Louisville Slugger C243 Lee Smith Model bats. Lee signed the barrel of each bat in silver marker, writing the inscription “Game Used” under each signature. The first bat has “California Angels” etched on the barrel, and the second has “Baltimore Orioles” etched on the barrel. Smith played with the Orioles in 1994, and with the Angels in 1995 and for 11 games in 1996. These two bats come with LOAs from Lee Smith that state the bats are game used, however Smith did not appear in any official at-bats with either team, meaning that these bats are most likely game issued or used in batting practice.
