Graded 40 VG 3 by SGC. Hall of Famer. This is the only example at its tier (with one graded higher) among a total of just three copies recorded in SGC's census reporting. Easily the most coveted subject in its issue, this approximately 8-1/2" x 6" showpiece – available only as the back panel of a cereal box – represents Wheaties' "Thin Orange Border/Figures in Border" style. This Gehrig specimen was neatly scissored from its original package (leaving a proper measure of orange border on each side) and shows minor wear at the periphery; the blank back is clean and unmarked. Very Good condition.
