Los Angeles Dodgers catcher and current MLB manager Mike Scioscia wore this gray road jersey during the 1988 World Series. Scioscia, a two-time All-Star, hit over .300 during the Dodgers playoff run, which saw them defeat the Mets and Oakland Athletics en route to their sixth World Series title. Scioscia played four games in the Fall Classic, picking up a key RBI in Game 1, which the Dodgers won on Kirk Gibson’s dramatic walk off home run. This item is a gray, button down road jersey. The final three games of the World Series took place at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, with Scioscia starting Games 3 and 4. This jersey has “Dodgers” sewn across the chest in blue and white tackle twill above a red tackle twill number “14”. “SCIOSCIA” and “14” are sewn on the back of the jersey in blue and white tackle twill. A 1988 World Series patch is sewn on the right sleeve. Rawlings size “46” and “88 1 W.S.” tags are sewn on the back inside collar of this jersey. Blue and white bands are present on the sleeve openings, with “Rawlings” embroidered in white on the right sleeve band. Scioscia signed the “4” digit on the back of the jersey in black fiber-tip marker. This jersey, which shows moderate use most evident on the trim separation on much of the left sleeve, comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for game use and a LOA from JSA (Z58549) for the signature.
