It is one of baseball’s greatest moments - Kirk Gibson’s game-winning home run off of relief ace Dennis Eckersley in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Athletics. The Dodgers would ride that emotional wave all the way to defeating the favored A’s – winners of 104 games during the regular season – to capture the World Series title. Starting pitcher Orel Hershiser was phenomenal, finishing 23-8 with a 2.26 ERA en route to the NL Cy Young Award.

Offered here is a 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers 14K gold World Championship pendant that was given to Edna Garland, wife of Jim Garland, whose career as a longtime Major League scout included working for the Dodgers. Jim was awarded a championship ring while Edna was presented this pendant by the Dodgers. A stunning round diamond highlights this piece and it is set on a blue stone. Around the bezel setting are 20 additional smaller diamonds. The outer perimeter reads “WORLD CHAMPION DODGERS 1988”. Inscribed on the back of this pendant is the name “Edna T. Garland” along with a 14K stamp. This item weighs approximately 18.8 grams and comes with a Garland family LOA.
