Former Major League manager Jim Leyland won 1,769 games in 22 seasons as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers. Leyland spent his first 11 of those seasons in Pittsburgh, where he was Manager of the Year in 1990 and 1992, leading the Pirates to three consecutive National League East titles. Leyland also was Manager of the Year for the Detroit Tigers in 2006.

     Leyland’s only World Series title was in 1997 as manager of the Florida Marlins and he wore this Russell Athletic Marlins button-down white with teal pinstripes vest style jersey during the dramatic Game 7 clinching game that saw Edgar Renteria drive in the series-winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning. The 1997 Marlins were the first Wild Card team to win the World Series and Leyland’s size 44 jersey features “MARLINS” across the chest with a paraph in teal and black tackle twill. Leyland’s number “11” is sewn on the front left chest in black, white and teal tackle twill. The Russell Athletic tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail.

     The back of the jersey has “LEYLAND” sewn on in black and teal tackle twill on a white nameplate above his number “11”, which is sewn on in black, white and teal tackle twill. The Russell Athletic logo is embroidered in teal and black on the upper back neck. Leyland signed his name vertically in silver marker on the left “1” on the back and inscribed “1997 World Series Game Used” on the right “1”. This jersey shows light to moderate use and comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B54304) and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
