Hall of Fame small forward Bernard King wore this road New York Knicks jersey during the 1986-87 NBA season. King, returning from a catastrophic knee and leg injury suffered the previous year, appeared in the Knicks final six games of the 1986-87 season. In his three road games, King scored 20, 30, and 31 points, resurrecting his career. King played in five more NBA seasons after his six game stint, retiring in 1993 after 32 games with the New Jersey Nets.
This jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in orange and white tackle twill. King’s number “30” is sewn on the front and back in orange and white tackle twill. “KING” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill. Medalist Sand-Knit size “46”, New York Knicks, and “2[inch] LB” tags are sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. A NBA logo patch is sewn on the left chest area of the jersey. A Cosby tag is sewn on the back inside collar of the jersey. Due to King’s abbreviated season, this jersey shows light use. According to noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, who has provided an LOA for this jersey, it is an “older jersey shell used with [the] NBA logo added, as King did not play in 1985-86”.
