When Robinson Cano came up to the New York Yankees in 2005, Joe Torre said “his build presence at the plate and smoothness in his swing” reminded him of the great Rod Carew. Cano let his bat speak for him, batting .297 with 14 HR and 62 RBI and just missing out on winning the Rookie of the Year Award.
This Rawlings 456B model bat shows light use, is un-cracked and was used by Cano during his 2005 rookie season. The barrel has some ball marks and bat rack streaks and a light coating of Mota Stick covers the upper handle/lower barrel area. There is a notation on the knob in black marker that is not legible and the model number “456B” is stamped on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14589) for the game use.
