The most triumphant moment of the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics did not come on the basketball court, the running track, or in the pool, but when Muhammad Ali lit the Olympic torch to kick off the centennial Olympiad. Ali, a gold medalist in the 1960 Rome Olympics, dipped the torch into the ceremonial cauldron to rapturous applause from a packed house Centennial Olympic Stadium. This photograph shows Ali standing tall, the lit torch raised in his right hand. The photo, displayed in a 21 x 25 inch matted frame, has been signed in gold marker by Ali. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z43881).
