Led by running back Marcus Allen, tight end Todd Christensen and defensive end Howie Long, the 1983 Los Angeles Raiders culminated their season with a 38-9 thrashing of the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XVIII on January 22, 1984. It was the third title in franchise history and the first since the team moved to L.A. Allen rushed for 1,014 yards - and caught 68 balls as well - during the 1983 campaign while Christensen had 92 receptions for 1,247 yards and 12 touchdowns. Long led the defense with 13 sacks.

Fullback Kenny King posted 294 rushing yards during the regular season and ran for 12 yards, and added two catches, in the Super Bowl. Presented here is King’s 1983 Los Angeles Raiders Super Bowl XVIII player ring. The face of the ring features a dazzling array of various sized diamonds, with clusters forming the shapes of three footballs, each centered by a larger diamond. The footballs signify the three titles in Raiders franchise history. “LOS ANGELES RAIDERS WORLD CHAMPIONS” is displayed around the ring’s bezel, with five diamonds to each side. The left shank reads “SUPER BOWL XVIII” across the top, above an image of the Lombardi Trophy, which sits between the game’s participants and final score, RAIDERS 38 REDSKINS 9, listed in banners. The score of the AFC title game, RAIDERS 30 SEAHAWKS 14, is also displayed along with “AFC CHAMPIONS” and the AFC logo. Looking closely, one can see that this layout is ingeniously designed inside the number 1. Below are the word “PRIDE” and the year 1983. King’s name, position and number 33 appear on the other shank, which is centered by the Raiders team logo. “POISE” and the year 1983 appear at the bottom. This ring is an approximate size 10 and it weighs approximately 47.2 grams.
