New York Mets pitcher Johan Santana threw the franchise’s only no hitter on June 1st, 2012. The Mets defeated the Cardinals 8-0 at Citi Field, as Santana threw 134 pitches. He allowed no hits, struck out eight, and walked five to complete his no-no. This offered base from the same game. It was used as third base from the fourth through sixth innings. Of note, this is the third base that was in play when Cardinals' outfielder, and former Met Carlos Beltran hit what appeared to be a double down on the left field line that was ruled a foul ball by the third base umpire Adrian Johnson. Beltran would eventually ground out to third. Santana signed the base in blue marker, adding the inscription “Mets 1st No Hitter 6/1/12”. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK048157).
