Harry Heilmann was one of the most feared hitters of the 1920s for the Detroit Tigers. A powerful slugger for his era, Heilmann walloped 152 home runs in his ten seasons in the live ball era. Where Heilmann shined brightest, however, was in batting average. He led the American League in batting average four times, peaking at .403 in 1923. Until Ted Williams came along, Heilmann was the last member of the American League to eclipse the .400 mark. A career .342 hitter, Heilmann was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1952. This autograph is placed on a piece of lined paper that has been affixed to a 3 x 5 inch slice of lined paper. Heilmann signed the cut in gray pencil. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z58572).
