In 1925, the Washington Senators repeated as American League champions. Led by the aging aces of Walter Johnson and Stan Coveleski, who won a combined 40 games, the Senators won the pennant by 8 ½ games over the Philadelphia Athletics. Goose Goslin continued his emergence as a breakout star in Washington, while the 35-year-old Sam Rice continued to play perfect “inside baseball”, hitting only one home run but achieving career highs in RBI (87) and batting average (.350). Roger Peckinpaugh, the 34 year old shortstop, took home his only MVP award. This sterling collection of talent built up a 3-1 lead in the World Series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but an inability to close out games saw them lose the final three contests of the series.

This Official American League Ban Johnson baseball has been signed by 27 members of the 1925 Senators. Hall of Famers Johnson, Goslin, Coveleski, Rice, and Bucky Harris have signed this ball, while the signatures of Joe Harris and Dutch Reuther appear on the sweet spot. Other signatures include Roger Peckinpaugh, Joe Judge, Buddy Myer, Spencer Adams, Jim Lyle, Tom Zachary, Bobby Veach, Ossie Bluege, Everett Scott, Al Schacht, Fred “Firpo” Marberry, Win Ballou, Nemo Leibold, and several more. The signatures have been written in black fountain pen on this red and blue stitched baseball. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A81856).
