As the greatest power hitting third baseman of all-time, Phillies legend Mike Schmidt knows a thing or two about home plate. He crossed the dish after a home run 548 times in his Hall of Fame career, 36 times more than Eddie Mathews, the other third baseman in the 500 home run club, and 452 times more than Frank “Home Run” Baker. Schmidt is painted twice on this home plate, once as a portrait and a second time in the field, his retro shades flipped up underneath his maroon ballcap. Schmidt signed the bottom of the plate, and his signature has been painted over by the artist, Frank Stapleton, who has also signed this piece. This plate comes with a LOA from JSA (Z58654).
