Presented here is Don Larsen’s uniform player’s contract for the 1958 MLB season. Larsen resigned with the New York Yankees on a one year deal worth $16,000. Larsen, coming off two seasons of double digit wins with the Yankees, pitched an excellent 1958 for the Bombers. He pitched in 19 games, all starts, and finished with a 9-6 record and 3.07 ERA. Among Larsen’s 19 starts were five complete games, including three shutouts. In the postseason, Larsen again played tremendously, starting two games and surrendering only one run in 9.1 innings, good for a miniscule 0.96 ERA. Larsen earned the victory in Game 3, the Yankees first victory of the series, which the American League ballclub would win in seven games.

Larsen signed the second page of this two page contract in blue pen as “Don James Larsen”. This contract, which includes an unidentifiable signature from a member of the Yankees front office, is dated to February 17th, 1958. This item comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports.
