Presented here is Don Larsen’s uniform player’s contract for the 1966 MLB season. Larsen, who had just finished his 13th Major League season, re-upped with the Baltimore Orioles for one more year of pro ball. Unfortunately, Larsen did not get to experience the Orioles World Series-winning season, as the American League ballclub released Larsen in early April, before he made a single big league appearance. Larsen latched on with the AAA Phoenix Giants for one season, before finishing out his career with a cup of coffee for the Chicago Cubs in 1967.
Larsen signed the second page of this contract in blue pen. Additional signatures include Harry I. Dalton, the player personnel director for the Orioles, and Joseph Cronin, the former Hall of Fame shortstop for the Boston Red Sox turned American League president. This contract, which was signed on February 4th, 1966, comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports.
