Presented here is a matted cut signed by Casey Stengel, one of the most decorated managers in Major League history. Known as much as for his dry wit as his seven World Series titles, Stengel’s chief managerial accomplishments came with the New York Yankees between 1949 and 1960. Later, he became the first ever manager of the New York Mets. A Hall of Fame inductee in 1966, the former deadball era player was one of the most beloved figures in baseball. The centerpiece of this 8 x 10 inch matted display is a cut signed in black pen by Stengel. It is matted below a reproduction of a Dick Perez portrait of Stengel.
