Joe Tinker was one-third of the most famous double play triumvirate in baseball history. “Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance” was the death knell for countless hitters in baseball’s deadball era, as the three Chicago Cubs whipped the ball around the diamond with ruthless efficacy. The three infielders made up the Cubs only great dynasty, winning four pennants and two World Series titles in the early 1900s. After their retirements, Tinker, Evers, and Chance were all inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
This 3 x 5 inch index card features a black pen signature from Tinker, the Cubs shortstop. Underneath his signature Tinker has written “’Cubs’ 06”, commemorating the Cubs team from that year, one that won 116 games and the World Series. This cut is accompanied by a LOA from JSA (Y91521).
