Cy Young owns many of baseball’s unbreakable records, including the career marks for wins (511), losses (316), and complete games (749). Young was an archetype of the deadball era pitcher, a resilient workhorse who finished almost every game he started. Young pitched 22 seasons in the big leagues, six times finishing with an ERA under 2.00. The namesake of the Cy Young Award for the best pitcher in each league, Young’s legacy endures today, nearly 120 years after his debut. Young signed this index card in blue pen on the unlined side.
