2017 October Legends Closing November 11

The 1956 World Series is largely regarded as one of the greatest in history, as the New York Yankees avenged their previous season’s loss to the Brooklyn Dodgers in a seven game Fall Classic. Although the Dodgers won the first two games, the Yankees ripped off three consecutive victories, capped by Don Larsen’s magical perfect game in Game 5. The Dodgers won a 10-inning Game 6 that saw Bob Turley and Clem Labine throw dueling complete games, and Jackie Robinson walked off the Dodgers with an RBI single in the 10th. Game 7 was the polar opposite, as Yogi Berra and Moose Skowron both drove in four runs apiece to power the Yanks to a 9-0 victory and the World Series title.
The offered photograph shows Mickey Mantle, Duke Snider, and Pee Wee Reese, three of the grand stars of this Fall Classic. Mantle, the Triple Crown winner of the American League in ’56, is enjoying a quick laugh with the two Dodger Hall of Famers. Each man signed this 16 x 20 inch photograph in black marker. This item comes in a 21 x 25 inch frame and is accompanied by a Steiner Sports Authenticated hologram.
