Presented here is a program for a Manhattan Guild fundraiser signed by New York Yankees stars Mickey Mantle and Hank Bauer. Mantle and Bauer were teammates for the Yankees from 1951 to 1959, winning five World Series while playing together in the Yankee Stadium outfield. Although Mantle was a generational star and Hall of Famer, Bauer was no slouch either, appearing in three All-Star Games and clearing the .300 batting average mark twice.
This program is in the shape of a fan, and is decorated with a playing card theme. Mantle and Bauer signed the back side of the fan, which is blank save for a Manhattan Guild crest. Each signed the fan in gray pencil. Both Mantle and Bauer inscribed “To Richard and David” above their signatures. One unknown signature is present on this fan. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z58668).
