Presented here is a Cincinnati Reds clubhouse jacket worn during the 1974-78 time period by Joe Morgan. Morgan was an All-Star in each of those seasons, and won the 1975 and 1976 National League MVP Awards. He led the Reds to the 1975 and 1976 World Series titles as the star of the Big Red Machine dynasty. In 1990, Morgan was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot.

This jacket is a red Wilson snap-front number with a Reds logo sewn on the left breast. It has two pockets on the chest, and a Wilson size “40” tag sewn on the back inside collar. This jacket, which shows light use, comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema. However, due to the lack of player ID markings on the jacket, Miedema can only authenticate it as a “player-used jacket” from 1974 to 1978. Provenance linking the jacket to Morgan is established by a Letter of Provenance from a former batboy.
