In 2007, the Boston Red Sox skipped their customary 86-year waiting period between World Series titles, claiming their second Fall Classic title of the 21st century with a four game sweep of the overmatched Colorado Rockies. Led by David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, and young stud second baseman Dustin Pedroia, the Red Sox won 96 regular season games to win the AL East title. This home plate was used during the last stretch of the 2007 season, with its installation taking place on September 6th. It was in use until September 20th, and saw action during six games. The first three were against the Tampa Bay Rays, and the second series saw the hated Yankees play three in Boston. The Red Sox went 3-3 during these six games, although a David Ortiz walk off home run earned them a 5-4 victory on September 12th against the Rays.

This plate has been signed by 22 members of the 2007 Red Sox, including manager Terry Francona, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett, Jonathan Papelbon, Jason Varitek, Kevin Youkilis, Dustin Pedroia, Mike Lowell, Jacoby Ellsbury, John Lester, John Farrell, Julio Lugo, Manny Delcarmen, and several more in black marker. Francona inscribed “07 WS Champs” beneath his signature. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z58608) for the signatures and a MLB Authenticated hologram (BB 630736) that authenticates use during the above referenced games, as well as the signatures of Ortiz, Francona, Varitek, and Schilling.
