Hall of Fame third baseman Tony Perez wore this Cincinnati Reds cap during the mid-1970’s, at the height of “The Big Red Machine’s” legendary run. The Reds made four World Series during the 1970’s, winning in 1975 and 1976, as Perez, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, and an outstanding ensemble of players turned out some of the most impressive offensive baseball in the history of the game. Perez was a cornerstone of their success, making seven All-Star teams and hitting 277 of his 379 career homers while playing for the Cincinnati ballclub. In 2000, Perez was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

This cap, which is red, has the Reds wishbone “C” logo embroidered in white on the front. “7 ¼ Perez” is written in black marker on the inside of the cap, and “7 ¼ 24” is written on the underside of the brim in black marker. Perez signed the top of the brim, also in black marker. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z58964) for the signature and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for the game use, which he dates to the mid-1970’s.
