In 2016, the Chicago Cubs ended a century long championship drought by defeating the Cleveland Indians in an electrifying seven game World Series. Led by manager Joe Maddon, the Cubs used a youth revolution, and crafty veterans, to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the World Series against Cleveland. The Cubbies won 103 regular season games and the NL Central title in 2016, thanks largely to the offensive play of NL MVP Kris Bryant and his fellow slugger Anthony Rizzo. Their pitching staff was anchored by four starters who won 15 or more games, including the spectacular top of the rotation aces Jon Lester and Jake Arrieta. With such a sterling young core, and the mad genius of Theo Epstein running the show, the Cubs figure to be a World Series contender for many seasons to come.

This Official 2016 World Series Robert D. Manfred Jr. baseball has been signed by 22 members of the 2016 Cubs. Theo Epstein has signed the sweet spot of this baseball, inscribing “16 WS Champs” underneath his signature.
