Hall of Fame forward Larry Bird wore these black and white Converse sneakers during the 1991-92 NBA season, the final year of his distinguished career. The three-time NBA MVP was limited to only 45 games by the back injury that necessitated his retirement, but even hampered Bird remained the transcendent star he had shown himself to be since his days as an Indiana State Sycamore. Bird averaged 20.4 points and 6.8 points per game while collecting 9.6 rebounds per game, his best mark since his MVP season in 1985-86. After retiring, Bird became a coach for the Indiana Pacers and later an executive, becoming the first person in NBA history to win MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year awards.

These converse shoes are made of black and white leather with white soles. White stars and chevrons are sewn on the sides of each shoe. “CONS” and “ERX-250” are printed in white on each tongue, while “CONS” is printed in white on the sides of each heel. Bird signed the outside chevron of each shoe in black marker. These shoes show heavy evidence of game use. They are accompanied by a LOA from MEARS for game use, and a LOA from JSA for the signatures (Z58646).
