Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Ryne Sandberg was the best second baseman in baseball. A threat to hit for power or average, to steal a base, or to turn a slick double play, Sandberg parlayed his impressive skills into a 16-season career that included 10 All-Star appearances, nine Gold Glove awards, and seven Silver Sluggers. In 2005, Sandberg was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The first item offered is a white, pinstriped, pullover Cubs jersey with a circular vinyl Cubs logo patch applied to the left breast. “SANDBERG” and his number “23” are sewn on the back of the jersey in blue tackle twill. Sandberg signed the “2” in silver marker and inscribed “HOF ‘05” on the “3”. Additionally, an Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball signed by Sandberg is offered. Sandberg signed the baseball to the left of Selig’s stamped signature in blue pen. His signature is located beneath a National Baseball Hall of Fame logo. Both items are accompanied by COAs from Tristar.
