Offered is a pair of Easton batting gloves which were donned by Sammy Sosa for the Chicago Cubs 4-3 loss to the Florida Marlins on July 8, 2003 at Wrigley Field, the same game which Sosa hit his 513th home run of his legendary career. With this home run, Sosa surpassed both Ernie Banks and Eddie Mathews to continue his climb up the all-time leaderboard. Sosa signed and inscribed the palm of each glove in blue marker “GU 03 HR 513”. The 1998 National League MVP would play until the end of 2007, finishing his 18 season career with 609 round-trippers. This lot is accompanied by a full letter from Mears, which authenticates the game use and a Sports investment COA with Sammy Sosa’s hologram for his signature.
