Shortstop Dave Concepcion was the backbone of the great Cincinnati Reds Big Red Machine infield during the mid-to-late 1970s and was also a productive hitter at the plate. During the 1976 season, where this offered bat originates, Concepcion batted a solid .281 with nine home runs and 69 RBI as the Reds won 102 games during the regular season and steamrolled through the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees with a combined 7-0 record.
This special Bicentennial Louisville Slugger carries the “1776-1976 National Pastime” Liberty Bell logo on the barrel between the H&B brand mark and the embossed Dave Concepcion signature. This Hillerich & Bradsby B278 model bat shows excellent use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks and cleat imprints and “B278” is stamped on the knob, which is the correct model number, however “B267” is stamped on the front barrel in error. Concepcion has signed his name on the barrel in silver marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14615) for the game use and a COA from JSA (S31959) for the signature.
