Offered is the 1984 Rawlings Gold Glove Award that was “Presented to Joaquin Andujar HONORING HIS SELECTION TO THE SPORTING NEWS NATIONAL LEAGUE ALL-STAR FIELDING TEAM.” This is the actual award given to Joaqin Andujar, it is not a replica and no duplicates were ever authorized by Andujar. Andujar led the National League in wins during the 1984 season with 20, innings pitched with 261.1 and shutouts with four. This glimmering and iconic 17 x 16 inch trophy displays a gold-painted Rawlings Major League All-Star Fielding Team glove mounted on a solid Oak platform featuring a portrait of Andujar etched into a metallic gold colored plate with a pair of gold painted Rawlings baseballs supported by tripods of miniature golden bats on either side above the descriptive nameplate adorned with the familiar red Rawlings logo under each ball. Andujar signed his name in black marker on four locations on this trophy. Two of his signatures appear on the sweet spot of the golden baseballs that adorn each side of this award and he signed his name and inscribed “#47” on the palm of the gold glove and on the gold panel with his etched portrait. The award displays nicely, but there are some marks present including a scratch through the portrait of Andujar and edge wear. This item comes with a full LOA from JSA.
