If it were possible to choose the “coolest” athlete in American sports history, Julius Erving would likely be the average NBA fan’s first choice. From his days as a high-flying, big hair superstar in the ABA to his years as an unstoppable scorer for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA, “Dr. J” brought an indelible panache to every action on the basketball court. An All-Star in each of his 16 professional seasons, Erving was an NBA champion in 1983 and averaged over 24 points per game. The Hall of Famer signed this size 15 Converse React basketball shoe in blue marker. His signature is slightly faded on this high-top red and white shoe, but it remains very readable. He added the inscription “Dr. J #6” to his signature. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Y58239).
