2017 October Legends Closing November 11
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/12/2017
Offered is a 192-card near set (missing the Pirates and Dogs subjects for completion) of R123 Seal Craft "National Series" discs produced in the 1930s. The 240 pieces comprising this interesting release are separated into seven sub-sets: Aircraft Insignia (48), Animals (36), Colleges (36), Flags (24) and Indians (48), in addition to the absent Pirates (24) and Dogs (24). (This was once the foundation of one of the hobby's finest complete sets, but that, original assembly recently became targeted for predation by topical specialists in Pirates and Dogs, respectively.) Mostly EX/MT to NM condition, with some lesser due to small areas of paper loss, minor folds or creasing, which was typical for this issue. It's important to note that these unusual and elusive pieces are more readily susceptible to damage than other, more conventionally configured trading cards; the items were designed to be handled, strung together, and much more actively "played with," in general, than other collectibles of the period.
