Presented here is a baseball signed by Pie Traynor, the first third baseman elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the BWAA. Traynor played his entire career for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1920 to 1937. An exemplary contact hitter, Traynor compiled a .320 career batting average with a single season high .366 in 1930. Although Traynor’s best home run record was only 12, he was an excellent run producer, knocking in over 100 RBI seven times in his career. Traynor, who was inducted into the Hall in 1948, remained a beloved member of the Pittsburgh community until his passing in 1972. Traynor signed the sweet spot of this Official ALS League baseball in blue pen. Please note that his signature has faded somewhat, but is still readable. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (Z05649).
