Presented here is a baseball used during the New York Yankees 7-4 loss against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium on September 25, 2011. The game was a thrilling affair that took 14 innings to find a winner. Jacoby Ellsbury, a future Yankee, crushed a three run home run in the top of the 14th to give the Red Sox a three run cushion and the eventual victory. This baseball has been signed by Derek Jeter, although the future Hall of Famer did not appear in this game. Jeter’s black pen signature is located on the sweet spot of this Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball. This ball, which shows evidence of game use, comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ 806432), which authenticates the signature and use on the 25th of September.
