Presented here is an Official Texas League J. Alvin Gardner baseball signed by Dizzy Dean. A member of the famed “Gashouse Gang” 1934 St. Louis Cardinals, Dean was one of baseball’s star pitchers during the 1930s. In 1934, Dean won 30 games and the National League MVP award while leading the Cardinals to a World Series championship. He was the last National League pitcher to reach the 30 game mark, signifying the end of the workhorse pitcher era. Dean was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953. Dean signed this baseball to the left of the sweet spot in black pen. An inscription, penned in an unknown hand, reads “April 1, 1952 H.E.A.” This baseball is accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA (T11377).
