The 1938 season was the last full year for the great Lou Gehrig and once again, the Iron Horse helped lead the Yankees to another World Series title, their third straight and seventh overall! While Gehrig was the veteran star, this team also included five other Hall of Famers including a in his prime Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez, Joe Gordon and Earl Combs.

     26 members of the 1938 World Series winning Yankees team have signed this Official American League William Harridge navy blue stamped baseball. DiMaggio’s signature appears on the sweet spot, though it is faded, but still readable. Gehrig’s signature appears on the west panel with the signatures of Steve Sundra, Wes Ferrell, Art Jorgens, Gordon, Monte Pearson, Art Fletcher and the clubhouse signature of Joe Glenn.

     The east panel with the Reach stamp has the signatures of Dickey, Ivy Andrews (signed Paul Andrews), Frank Crosetti and Babe Dahlgren. The north panel has the clubhouse signature of Joe McCarthy and the signatures of Spud Chandler, Bill Knickerbocker, Red Rolfe, Gomez and Johnny Murphy. The south panel has the signatures of Gordon, Earle Combs, George Selkirk, Tom Heinrich, Myril Hoag and Jake Powell. The signatures are light but still readable and the ball is in good condition with only slight toning and crisp stampings. This multi-signed baseball comes with a full LOA from JSA (X64898).
