Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio are two of the most iconic names in New York Yankees franchise history. Only the 1935 season separated these two players from being teammates as Ruth finished his immortal career with the Bombers in 1934 and DiMaggio began his Hall of Fame career in 1936. DiMaggio began his professional career with the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League at age 17 in 1932 and played for them for three-plus seasons before his legendary Major League career began with New York. Ruth made his famous switch to pinstripes after the 1919 season and promptly led the Yankees to four World Series titles on the back of his 659 of 714 career home runs.

     Offered is this circa late 1920s early 1930s baseball signed by Ruth and partially by DiMaggio. Ruth’s signature appears on the sweet spot of this Official Pacific Coast League baseball with a hand written inscription on the panel above his signature that reads 10-28-32. The stamp of league president Harry A. Williams, who served in that capacity from 1924-1931, is on the adjacent side panel. Ruth’s signature is light and two brown spots covers part of his first name, but it is still readable. Part of Joe DiMaggio’s signature appears to the left of Ruth’s signature in light blue pen. DiMaggio’s last name is no longer visible due to the damage on that panel that has the top layer of the leather removed. The baseball is still structurally intact, however, there are several scrapes and missing pieces of leather. The laces are red and blue and the stampings are black. This baseball comes with a full LOA from JSA (Z58579).
