Hall of Fame starting pitcher Don Drysdale pitched for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers from 1956 to 1969, when shoulder troubles forced Drysdale to end his playing career. Drysdale transitioned almost immediately to a broadcasting role, joining the Montreal Expos for the 1970 and 1971 seasons. While with the Expos, the 6’5” Drysdale would occasionally toss batting practice to the Expos hitters, hence the need for a team issued jersey set.

     This stunning powder blue flannel road jersey has the Expos stylish “M” logo sewn on the left breast, above a blue tackle twill “expos”. Drysdale’s number “53”, which has been retired by the Dodgers, is sewn on the chest and back in blue tackle twill. The underarm areas of this jersey feature six ventilation holes each. “1970” is embroidered in black on the front left tail of this jersey, while a Wilson size “46” tag is sewn on the back inside collar.

     Also included are Drysdale’s powder blue flannel road pants. A red, white, and blue stripe runs down the side of each leg. A Wilson size “38” tag with “#1” written on it in black marker is sewn on the inside waistband. “53-1970-33”” is embroidered in black on the waistband. The jersey and pants show light use and come with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema and a Letter of Provenance from the Drysdale family.
