Ernie Banks was one of the best players in Chicago Cubs history; a 19-year Chicago lifer who won back-to-back National League MVP awards in 1958 and 1959. A 14-time All-Star with 512 career home runs, Banks was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977, on his first ballot. In 1982, Banks became the first player to have his number, “14”, retired by the Chicago Cubs.

Banks wore this white home pullover during the 1973 season as a coach of the Cubs. This jersey has a large Cubs logo sewn on the chest, and a Cubs alternate logo sewn on the left sleeve. Banks’ number “14” is sewn on the back of the jersey in blue tackle twill. Wilson size “42” and “14 73 1 42” tags are sewn on the back inside collar of this jersey. A “73” tag is sewn on the front left tail. This item comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
