In 2000, Ken Griffey, Jr. took a pay cut in order to return to the city of his birth, Cincinnati. Playing for his father’s old team, Junior combined with Sean Casey and Barry Larkin to make the Reds a viable competitor again. Unfortunately, Griffey’s all-out way of playing caught up with him in the form of a succession of debilitating injuries that shortened his playing time.

This Louisville Slugger C271 model bat with a cupped end shows excellent use and is un-cracked. The barrel exhibits many ball marks with white leather ball scuffs and blue ink transfers. Red bat rack paint streaks are visible along with cleat imprints. The handle has been covered in layers of overlapping white tape that makes a thick handle and enhances the grip. This is a terrific gamer from one of the most naturally talented men to ever play the game. The bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B06920) and has been graded a solid GU 9.
