Jim Busby spent 13 years in the Major League, playing for six teams and appearing in the 1951 All-Star Game as a member of the Chicago White Sox. Busby was incomparable as a fielder, playing in center and recording a lifetime fielding percentage of .988. After his career ended in 1962, Busby became a highly respected coach for numerous teams, including the Astros, Braves, and Mariners.

Busby wore this jersey during the 1969 season, which he spent with the Atlanta Braves. The Braves won 93 games in ’69, winning the inaugural National League West title and appearing against the Mets in the National League Championship Series. This jersey is a home, pinstriped, flannel button down jersey. It has “Braves” sewn across the chest in navy blue tackle twill and a “Screaming Brave” patch sewn on the left sleeve. The MLB 100th anniversary patch worn on the right sleeve during the 1969 season has been removed, a common practice. Busby’s number “8” is sewn on the back of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill. A “Busby / 1969-Set 2” tag is sewn on the back inside collar and a Wilson size “42” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. The underarm areas have six holes each for ventilation. This jersey, which shows moderate use, comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
