Presented here is a basketball signed by Hall of Famer and 11-time NBA champion Bill Russell. The Celtics legend is largely responsible for the revolution of the center position, allowing better athletes, not lumbering giants, to man the paint for NBA squads. Russell was a tenacious rebounder, averaging 22.5 rebounds per game during his 13-season career. Later in his career, Russell became the player-manager for the Celtics, and in doing so became the first African-American head coach in NBA history. Russell signed this Spalding basketball in black marker adding "#6" to his signature. This ball comes with a COA from JSA (S81023).
